Quad Cane provides additional support

What’s the best cane for balance or stability problems? Unlike a regular walking cane, a quad cane provides additional support to the user, allowing them to put more weight on their cane and covering a wider radius. Quad canes remove some of the issues experienced with a traditional cane, such as slipping and falling on certain surfaces.

For example, a single tip cane may slide on rock salt whereas a quad cane may not because there are four contact points. This is very important for anyone dealing with balance problems.

Often the best walking cane for stability, a quad cane is heavier which makes it slightly more difficult to move. A person transitioning from a single tip cane to a quad cane will notice the difference in weight. However, over the course of a week or two, the person will get accustomed to their new cane and the added stability it provides.
